Joyce Axton Jamison Papers

Joyce (Axton) Jamison was a student at the Colorado Women's College from 1949-1951. She remained active in the alumni community. She married Francis (Frank) Jamison, a Denver judge and graduate from the University of Denver Law School in 1956. Her older sister Virginia Axton Hughes was also an alum of the Colorado Women's College.

Lena Harper Trott Theatre Scrapbooks

Abstract

Lena Harper Trott (1883-1964) graduated from the University of Denver in 1907. She married Alfred Blake Trott, the president of Daniels & Fisher Company, and they had a daughter, Frances Harper Trott. This collection contains two scrapbooks. The first covers the Tabor Theatre, the Broadway Theatre and Elitch Theatre from 1898-1910. The second covers theatres in Denver, New York and Chicago from 1909-1913.

Louise Bieri was a student of the Colorado Women's College in 1921. She graduated in 1923 and became a teacher. In 1950, she graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor's in Education. Her daughter, Grace von Ehrenkrook Walker, also graduated from CWC in 1948 and from CU in 1950. She donated her mother's scrapbook to the archives.

Abstract Luby Chevrolet, one of Colorado's oldest car dealerships, was started in 1920 in Denver, Colorado by Sam Luby, later joined by brothers Louis and Henry Luby. Joe Luby, who had worked at Luby Chevrolet from the bottom up, bought out his brothers in 1956. "Papa Joe" moved the dealership to Colorado in 1972. Joe Luby's daughter JoAnn and her husband Richard Fleischman purchased the Luby Chevrolet dealership in 1992. They sold the business in 1998, but Richard Fleischman stayed on...
