Abstract

Grandson of Edward Bruce Bowles. Mother was Maria Bowles Van Scoy Glen was a member of the Home Rule Charter Convention in 1957. In 1946 Glen VanScoy was named postmaster of Westminster. He & wife were the only employees at that time; with a population of 700 they managed the office and they met the train twice a day to deliver & pickup mail. Talks of the postoffice moving, more clerks, house to house delivery began, raising the postoffice to second class then first class.
