Ostrover Shul (Synagogue)
Biography
Ostrover Shul was located at 14th Ave. and Lowell Blvd. In the early 1900s, many Jews from Ostrov in Poland emigrated to Denver and formed a community in west Denver called the Ostrovers. They organized the Congregation Ostrover Beth Jacob in 1908.

Burgundy Velvet Tefillin Bag, circa 1955
A burgundy velvet tefillin (phylacteries) bag with flap that folds down to close. The lining is a green/gray cotton. Originally belonged to Ostrover Shul (Synagogue).
Maroon Velvet Tallit Bag, circa 1955
A maroon velvet tallit (prayer shawl) bag lined in burgundy colored silk. In the center there is a gold embroidered Star of David and ''tallit'' in Hebrew, surrounded by gold laurel and star design. There is yellow fringe at the bottom of the bag. The top is fastened with a black plastic button and loop of thin black cord. Originally belonged to the Ostrover Shul (Synagogue).
