Abstract Dr. Philip Hillkowitz sits at the head of a table in a captain's army uniform at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS) offices. Hillkowitz resigned from his position at the JCRS to serve as a physician in World War I. From left to right around the table are the following people: I. Legacy of Healing Exhibit (History Colorado)

Abstract

In 2019, The Legacy of Healing exhibit was installed at the Colorado History museum. Professor Jeanne Abrams, Curator of the Beck Archives at DU University Libraries, and her staff and History Colorado staff created and installed the exhibit. The collection consists of exhibit panels, wall images and labels, planning documents and digital images.

Abstract

Mrs. Aaron (Ray) Shapiro was born and raised in New York City and became involved in the fund raising activity for the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society as a member of the New York Ladies' Auxiliary. The collection consists of an 1899 photograph of Ray Shapiro and a photograph of a plaque for a building on the JCRS campus erected with funds collected by the New York Ladies' Auxiliary.
