Abstract

Elizabeth Antonofsky [Anthony] Epstein (1871-1938) was born in Kiev, Russia. Her family moved to New York, where she met Frederick Epstein (1865-1931), originally of Lithuania. The couple moved to Colorado for Fredrick's tuberculosis, and they settled in East Denver where he worked as an insurance salesman. They had two sons, Theodore and Milton, who both had their Bar Mitzvahs at Beth Ha Medrosh Hagodol (BMH) Synagogue. From 1925-26, Elizabeth was president of the BMH Synagogue's Women's League. They are both buried at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Colorado.
