Palmieri Interview with Vorontsov Part 2, 1998
Audio digital recording of an interview conducted by Deborah Palmieri with Yuli M. Vorontsov in 1998. In this second part of the interview Vorontsov talks about the relationship between the United States and Russia and how that relationship has changed from the Cold War period. He comments on the achievements of his career and how he is most proud of bringing the United States and Russia together when during the Cold War they hated eachother. Vorontsov also supplies his comments and opinions on what the legacy of Boris Yeltsin might be and states that he does not want Yeltsin to resign his position as president because that would take the focus away from helping build the middle class in Russia. Vorontsov strongly encourages Russia to continue to focus on developing the economy and predicts that over the following 2 to 3 years the government and the economy would become more stable.
