Wasserman Family Daily Prayer Book
Abstract
Prayer Book, "The Form of Daily Prayers: According to the Custom of the German and Polish Jews". Cover is enamel in blue and white, ivory, and brass with a brass clasp. End sheets are red and gold floral pattern and there is an inscription in the front of the book, Yiddish written in Hebraic script. Was a gift to donor’s husband’s father, Hellman Chaim Wasserman (born 1908) on his Bar Mitzvah in 1921. Family emigrated to the United States during the 1850s-1870s, first in New York and Pennsylvania and later Denver.
