Typed letter from Jacob Schoen to C.D. Spivak. Schoen tells Spivak that this letter will be handed to him from Max Schaeffer who is sick with consumption. Schoen continues to explain that Schaeffer is destitute with no family to help him. Schoen also asks Spivak to satisfy the ex-grand master’s favor of taking an interest in Schaeffer’s case. Typed letter from Max Stern to C.D. Spivak. Stern is the ex-grand master of the I.O.B.A lodge. He asks Spivak if he can place Max Schaeffer into the JCRS sanatorium as soon as possible. Stern tells Spivak that doctors claim Schaeffer can still be cured.

Typed letter from Samuel Dorf to C.D. Spivak. Dorf is the current grand master of the I.O.B.A. lodge and he wrote on behalf of the ex-grand master, Max Stern. Dorf tells Spivak that he is writing the application for Max Schaeffer who wants to be admitted to the sanatorium. Dorf also tells Spivak that he intended to write a long letter to him last month, but since Leonard Leisersohn passed away he has been very busy.
