The first reference to Colorado Seminary was in The Rocky Mountain News of November 27, 1862: “ a board of Trustees, composed of the solid men of Denver, has been organized to superintend the erection of a seminary building… for an academic education.”

Pioneers' forward Tyler Bozak (Regina, Saskatchewan) received All-WCHA honors by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association in 2008 at the league's annual awards banquet at the RiverCentre. The hockey player led DU in scoring his freshman year with 34 points.

In 2008 she was named Sun Belt Player of the Year and Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Player, was selected to the All-Central Region Second Team and named to All-SBC Preseason team, All-SBC First Team and Sun Belt All-Tournament Team.
