Abstract

Prayer Book, "The Form of Daily Prayers: According to the Custom of the German and Polish Jews". Cover is enamel in blue and white, ivory, and brass with a brass clasp. End sheets are red and gold floral pattern and there is an inscription in the front of the book, Yiddish written in Hebraic script "A Present from Avraham Shimon Berlin To Hellman Chaim Wasserman On his Bar Mitzvah"

Biographical / Historical

Was a gift to donor’s husband’s father, Hellman Chaim Wasserman (born 1908) on his Bar Mitzvah in 1921. Family emigrated to the United States during the 1850s-1870s, first in New York and Pennsylvania and later Denver.
